Carnoustie & Monifeith Men's Shed are always keen to welcome new members and to receive any donations of your time or surplus timber.

Hello Carnoustie went to visit their workshop at Invertay House, Monifieth to find out more.

The shed (pictured above) has 107 square metres of space and is well equipped with a range of machinery and tools.

Men's Shed provide men with a safe, male friendly environment to create a sense of purpose and belonging that enables socialising and sharing (often there's more tea and biscuits involved than hammer and nails!).

Men's Shed provides a place for activity and socialising - the resources are available to pursue individual projects and increasingly in response to requests from organisations based in Carnoustie and Monifeith and often involves working with schools for example making raised beds, benches and bird tables.

Currently Men's Shed has 26 members and are keen to get more people from the community involved.  Although their focus is around woodworking they would like to expand to other craft skills.

To join or find out more call: 079 335 72079 or pop along to the workshop any Tues, Weds or Thurs afternoon.

Men's Shed donated 2 planters to Carnoostival recently for use in the backstage areas for the bands.
